Now that it's summer...Anyone planning on taking a blogging break to avoid burnout?

One of the bloggers I follow just announced she's done blogging. Like permanently done blogging. At least for now. And her blog didn't have a small following. And what I found interesting is that all of her reasons for stopping right now match the realities that I believe most of us face. I mean, if you're a mom, your time commitments are going to be tight no matter what.

And it got me to thinking about what a fast-paced world this blogging-vehicle travels at. I mean, some of the blogs I follow post numerous posts a day. I tend to post a few times a week depending on what's going on in my life...but I also have a small following still.

So I was curious, anyone going to be taking a blogging break this summer to avoid burnout? Would you mind sharing strategies you use to get the break you need to keep blogging? Do others pre-write and schedule posts to sneak in time-off that way?

Thanks in advance for your input.

I'm definitely not going to take a break, because I nééd blogging to keep me on an even reel! And especially during Summer Vacation, when the kids are home áll the time, blogging is a much needed lifeline.

That, and the fact that I want to become professional blogger, are my reasons to blog along.

I always plan to slow down during the summer, sometimes it happens but not usually.  This time it is going to happen - with a baby due in Aug it's time to refocus a bit on what's really important.  So if I don't update as much, oh well, and if I miss out on some campaigns...oh well too.  Yes blogging can be real life, but in my opinion it's important it isn't your only life.  I have already begun by cutting down and am no longer posting on the weekends, for the most part.
Just wanted to send you a congratulations on your pregnancy. May your birth be beautiful, peaceful and life
I am a teacher so I have a tendency to blog more in the summer than during the school year.  I do utilize scheduled posts and just change the dates if I have fresh content I want to share.  I don't have dreams of becoming the next biggest blogger or anything so I just do my thing.  I am looking to find some new reads this summer though because I feel that I am in a rut with the blogs I read. If you are looking for new readers come visit me and www.melsboxofchocolates.com and leave me a link so I can come read your blog too!!
So glad to see some responses. My husband works all his overtime/busy season work in the summer, so I'm tempted to blog more, since it's feasible. But at the same time, I feel like taking a break might be equally as important for keeping things lively. I notice that I'm actually relieved when blogs don't post daily. Keeps me on my toes and grateful when the writer does choose to post. Thanks guys for the great responses. And Mel, I'm headed over for  read right now. Thanks for introducing yourself. :)
