Brainstorming time! No, it's good weather here...lol

Ok, seriously. There are 1million blogs out there. How can we stand out from the crowd? Readers are getting the same thing everytime. My articles has always been copied (with reference) elsewhere. That makes my blog same as others? Do we hold contest? Interviews? Free gifts? What do readers really want so that we can drive more traffic to our blog?

Can somebody comment if my blog is worth readership?

You have already picked out a good template that will work for what your blogging about. I would check some of the images that aren't loaded on your side board and easy up on all the badges. Move your About Me section, Facebook/Google Connect Plugin towards the top of your side bar. You want your readers to be able to find those 2 important areas immediately. Now they are at the very bottom. Other then that I like where you going with this.

I am learning how to blog my self .. I have my own blog/business. Though I started actual blogging .. I am an EMT and thought that I would concentrate on the life of an EMT MOM .. with some story's negative any personal information ( Privacy Laws and protection of people's personal life ) as well as a few reviews, advertisements and supports of other mom bloggers/business. Any other ideas .. please if you would not mind taking a look at my blog http://theemtmommy.blogspot.com and let me know .. please be honest.

I love to write how I speak .. there may be day's where I am just rambling and other days when I am being serious... regardless of which way you look at it... as long as it's YOU then it should stand out.. because if you think about it, We are all NOT a like ! ;)

Thank You so Much -- I was thinking the same thing on the badges.. Maybe I can have a separate page for that.

Hey Kirsten,
Your right about that part. People can tell if what you right isn't your voice. Experience is what sets everyone apart. My blog isn't that old, but I have been in the business with marketing (Corporate Marketing) for the last 6 yrs so I try and pass on what I know from that. It's still a learning process the way blogs are, but its fun!

I just stay true to myself. Don't get me wrong I hope others will read and enjoy what I write. I try to include helpful tidbits. In the end I blog for me - to keep me from going bonkers. : )

Wow, I'm also a new blogger and I do feel overwhelmed. I just started a Facebook page www.Facebook.com/pennylovesblog for my blog. Even MBC I feel like it's a great resource. However, it's so big I feel like I don't know where to start. All I know is I enjoy writing and informing and I really try to do a good job and provide a quality product. I'm hoping that is what will make me eventually stand out. Even though I wasn't the original poster, I also appreciate the valuable information.
Pennylove, I know what you mean. It's hard to know where to start. There are so many resources out there...

I'm trying to make my blog stand out by my content. My big dream is for my blog to go viral!

I'm at momfever.com.

I am also very new to blogging and have enjoyed reading replies to this question.  Some very good suggestions were given.  My blog is definately different than a blog on parenting as it deals with mental health with one page dealing with child and adolescent mental health.   Here's the link:   ltmentalhealth.com

Does anyone know of widgets that can be added to the blog to increase its searchability on google

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

The best way to increase searchability is to use keywords in your posts and meta-tags in your header (find this in the theme editor). To find out what people are searching on to find your site look at your site analytics. If you haven't set up an account do this right away. Google Analytics is a good option. With analytics you will see what keywords people used to find you.

Use the Google Keyword tool (just search for it) find out what keywords people are using to search for mental health. Watch for the keywords that get the highest number of searches. Those are the keywords you want to target for your articles.

Post often and of course comment on similar websites and blogs. Google loves regularly (read frequently) update blogs.

If you need more information or want some one-on-one help with finding and using the tools I mentioned feel free to ask. I'm more than happy to help.

I'm starting a new blog, MomBlogger101.com, to answer these kinds of questions for beginning bloggers.

Hey Everyone,

All of these replies helped me out so much!  I've been so stressed out about people not following my blog lately, but I need to remember why I'm doing it.  It's such an enjoyable thing for me, I'm seriously a happier mom after I've blogged (is that bad??).  It's just a great way to have "me time," and I was in desperate need of a creative outlet!
