Stay Specific or Broaden My Horizons

Hey everyone. I got it into blogging a year or so ago after having a website for a long time about work from home jobs. Now that I am in the blogging community and have been for the last year I am wondering if I should broaden my range of topics. Mostly I post on legitimate work from home jobs and occasionally money saving ideas and freebies. I know many of my followers are looking for a work from home job so I don't want to change too much but I would also like to appeal to a broader range of readers. Opinions?

I go back and forth on this a lot. On one hand...niche blogs can do incredibly well. The more tightly focused, the better. I've read famous bloggers suggest starting another blog instead of broadening your horizons on your current one. That said, I've started to broaden my blogging bit by bit and it seems to be well received.

Your topic seems to appeal to moms that want to stay at home, so I think money saving tips and ideas could definitely work in. The more the save, the easier it will be for them to stay home. Now I wouldn't start posting workout advice...but I think staying within the "save money to stretch one income further" genre could work for you.

This is going to be a corny answer, but I really do feel that if you are passionate about your topic(s), that is what you should blog about. Authenticity does matter. That said, it is only natural to expand your personal horizons & interests. As that happens, I say blog it & see what flows
