My family knew but never visited my blog, HA. It took a TV interview for them to find it..so weird, right?! Your blog is your business period! Jamie said:
I am totally blogging in the closet right now. The only person who knows about my blog are my husband, mother and best friend. If my sister-in-law found out, I would never hear the end of it. I'm so scared I'll be discovered. I'm thinking about just coming out already.

Telling my cousin was a HUGE mistake. I was going through a lot of stuff at the time and I hoped this new hobby would take my mind off things. Then I told her of my exciting new blog she was less than supportive.... which really added to all the crap that was going on. I'm glad I stuck with it dispite her support.

Biggest mistake is checking my blog site at my parents' house (yearsss ago) and I forgot to delete my website off the history. I had to delete that website as soon as my mother had told me about my dad founding out about my site. It made me feel very uncomfortable and angry about what he had to say. Lesson learned.
not making sure I had a "normal" blog that everyone (family and friends) could read and also the "ranting" blog that not everyone (friends and family) could read. This has already bit me in the butt.
Yes, there is a learning curve indeed. I was making my blog entry real long and did not realize I could make it two pages.
I think I am the same, when there was a blog posted to eggsplatter by a contributor about a son who had a drug overdose (2yo ate prescription meds) at the home of Person A. Person A then heard all about it from people who read the blog as a third party account. (Of course the blogger didn't name them!) I shouldn't have approved that post - ooops!
was giving away side bar links for Free!! I now charge and make a bit of spending money. I no longer write free posts to spread the word on this on that MY time is valuable and so is my blog and content.

If they want me to advertise they will have to pay me something or compensate with a product review. Billions of $$$ are being spent on advertisement it's time to stop advertising for free. The more of us who say we charge the more company's will take us seriously and stop trying to get by on another blogger who will not charge

. DOn't work for Free ladies!
Trying not to, but still working out how to make the money?

NOt getting a domain name straight off. Switching domains to .com made my new name go n/a. It took a few months to get to a 4/10 now I have to grow back to it.

I can relate to this too. I havent' switched ot a .com because someone picked up the name for a static page to make money. I swear it was intentional someone trying to keep me down. :D

I'm a PR4 and don't want to give that up so close to Christmas
I sure wish I had switched from the beginning, as I am still trying to get up the PR after my domain switch...arghhh!

Gosh I've been blogging a month and I feel like I make mistakes daily. I guess my biggest mistake so far is probably not having a clear cut and defined plan of exactly what I wanted my niche to be. I started off doing coupon match ups and lots of deal posts, but noticed they got next to no response. For how time consuming they were, it was pretty disappointing. Now I do more personal blogging mixed in with some great deals and money saving tips and it feels more like me.
So I guess I would have been truer to myself from the get go?
