Although it sounds strange that baby's food could have toxic heavy metals. But it is a bitter reality that a variety of baby food items own toxic heavy metals like mercury, lead, arsenic and cadmium, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Indeed, healthy metals including zinc and iron should be a part of your baby's food, but it is suitable for moms to avoid toxic heavy metals.

However, if you are not aware of how to avoid toxic heavy metals from your baby's food, then you must act upon the following tips:

Breastfeed (if possible) - The first thing that moms of 6 months old babies should do is breastfeed. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, breastfeeding is the most delicate thing to provide all healthy nutrients to your baby instead of formula milk. 

Balanced Diet - Secondly, you shouldn't stick with a few food items for your babies. It is essential to include a variety of food items to avoid the risk of heavy metals in baby food. Yes, when you go with a combination of food items, you can easily prevent the risk of toxic heavy metals.

Check Your Water - Indeed, water could also be a source of heavy metals in the food of your newborn. You must have knowledge about the present metals in your kitchen water. The presence of metals in water could vary from country to country or city to city.

Check the Ingredients - It is also recommended to read the ingredients on the back of every food item before using it. In this way, you could know what kind of metals a food item contains. Undoubtedly, top food brands have these metal detectors to know the ratio of metals in food items. They also clearly mention them on the top of their food items.

Avoid Fruit Juices - According to health experts, mothers should avoid giving fruit juices to babies by the age of 1 year. Fruit juices don't only have a high range of sugar but also have toxic heavy metals. 

Homemade Food - Organic or homemade food is another remedy to avoid heavy metals. Compared to processed food, homemade food is healthy for kids. This food also doesn't have chemicals and other harmful ingredients.
