What is blogging for you? A job, a hobby, or a combination of both?

So many mom bloggers are in different phases of blogging. Some are brand-new to blogging and consider it a hobby. Other moms have been blogging for years and now consider it a hybrid between a hobby and a job. And some mom bloggers approach their blogs strictly from a business point of view.

To me, my blog would have to be a hybrid blog. I love blogging, its a lot of fun for me, however, I also love marketing and love the opportunity of turning a hobby into something that can make money!

Blogging is a hobby right now. I just started in September 2009, and I am loving it! I have considered crossing over to the business side of blogging, but I'm not ready to heavily campaign to be successful at that. Right now, I just want to concentrate on my content and design and keep extended family and friends posted on what's happening in my little slice of the world as we move from place to place, wherever the Army takes us. I have also been very lucky to meet a few great blog-y friends who I can count on to thoughtfully comment, and make me feel like I'm not the only one reading my blog :)

Well, my blog is about my family. Also one of my kids has Autism and I use my blog to educate people about Autism and the educational problems we face.

Blogging started out as a therapeutic outlet for me at a rough time in my life. But it has since turned into a hobby, which is quickly morphing into a "job." I have started doing product reviews and giveaways and am in love with social networking/social media.

I used to run a mom's website, so the online world isn't new to me. I am looking forward to seeing where blogging leads me!

A bit of both, really. I started it because someone suggested it would help promote my online business but I found that I enjoy doing it and I'm glad I discovered blogging.

This blog (my personal blog) is all about my little girl. My blog is about remembering each day what it is to have that little girl grow up in front of your eyes. I originally thought I would keep a daily journal - and I started a journal while pregnant: even went out and bought a cool journal so that I would look at it everyday. I think there are 5 entries in it! Then I realized, as much as we move and as much family as we have in various parts of the country, a blog is perfect. I would blog the first 365 days of my daughter's life, for them, but mainly for her...and me. I can't wait to look back at the end of this project and see how she's grown. I'm already peeking back to the first few days and it makes me so happy that I have started it!!

Blogging is my ME time! It started out as test; I wanted to see if I could write again on a regular basis. Now, I am just loving it! I get to relive the events of the day, and examine them somewhat. I get to share the things I love. It's great!

Blogging is a great way to market a business. I agree and love when companies contact me to review their products, especially if I didn't know they exist before social media.

For me blogging is both a hobby and a job. I love what I do and therefore try to find ways to get paid doing it. However I don't lose sight that I love it and won't clutter it with only paid opportunities. I only focus on paid opportunities that go with my audience and my topics. I also use my blog as a platform to find other job opportunities. I love social media in general and therefore enjoying what you do is a win win.
