What is blogging for you? A job, a hobby, or a combination of both?

So many mom bloggers are in different phases of blogging. Some are brand-new to blogging and consider it a hobby. Other moms have been blogging for years and now consider it a hybrid between a hobby and a job. And some mom bloggers approach their blogs strictly from a business point of view.

I love blogging.It's just a hobby for me.A way to communicate to the world that I exist, even if no one is actually reading the rubbish I'm writing. :D

Blogging is both. I used to do it as a hobby but once I started my new site, I had to be more professional. My views will influence the readers of my blog as well as future readers of my books. I still have small sections though that are more carefree though, so it's still a hobby and fun as well.:)

Blogging is definitely a combination of both. I got into writing almost 10 years ago as a hobby and LOVED it so much it became my passion. Now I do it for my main source of income and that's why I started my own blogs--so that I can earn my own income while I stay at home with my darling daughters. The writing industry is too unreliable for work right now and it is satisfying building my blog readership from the ground up. Feel free to support my efforts by viewing my blogs at:

A creative release, a pleasant way to journal my first years as a first-time mother (mostly because I love my blog's layout--it makes me laugh, still!), an exercise in writing and a way to avoid editing my poetry and fiction (also a legitimate excuse for not editing my poetry and fiction---right???). I know that in years to come I will be SO HAPPY I made the time for this blog, especially with the 3rd birthday approaching this year. Where has the time gone? Well, I have a little idea thanks to blogging. (But still---come on---THREE? REALLY? Sorry for shouting...).

Mine is a hobby. I like to have fun with silly posts or get serious with life posts or share my family and pets with lots of picture posts. I'd like to think I am relative to a lot of other bloggers coming from a blended family and entering a blended family.

For me, blogging is a hobby. Now that I am blogging more and getting to know the blogosphere better - I see that there are opportunities out there where I can actually get paid to do what I love!

Hobby...although hubby is thinkin' I spend so much time I should think about getting paid for it.

A combo. What started as a hobby is now a job of sorts. Not well paid. No benefits. But a source of pride. I take comfort in a review well-written. I enjoy crafting a good intro paragraph to set the scene for my review post.

I've always kept a journal. Blogging seemed a natural extention. I love it! I've met so many wonderful women and read their blogs. I love learning new stuff.

For the past 4 years that I've been blogging on and off, It's always been just a hobby for me, although it does generate a little bit of income. However, I'm going to be transitioning for working part time to being a stay at home mom again when we move next month, and once my older son starts school, I'm going to be digging deep and really pushing it to the next level.
