It took me a few days to think of mine. But I put up different pages on my blog of things that I personally like. This way, it is more personal and I figure I can write more and better.
Sorrry for the 2nd comment... but on my page I am also trying to put the facebook "like" and "follow" so I can socialize more. I have not been ble to figure it out yet though.
Maybe this will help...I set up Google Alerts for forward me breaking news on my blog topic (which happens to be maternity leave). I get a regular email from Google where they've scanned the web and sent me links to relevant articles, posts, etc. I never swipe the content but there are always things for me to comment on, link back to or get me into a brainstorm mood.
I also found a book in the UK that is similar to the topics I cover in my blog. I haven't read the book but I looked at the Table of Contents and Index on Amazon and that unblocked my writer's block.
Good luck to you.
Cheree
I just write about random things that happen to me or my family. Funny things my kids do or say, parenting situations that I usually don't know how to handle, reviews on products/websites, my craft business I am trying to start, etc. I don't write everyday, it overwhelms me to try and come up with something every single day. However, once I start writing, I usually can come up with other things to write about as the creative juice is flowing! If I have time, I will write more than one blog post then and save the other for another day when I am having writer's block!
Great questions and I like reading about how others come up with topics.
Like Cheree, I also scan news to find things that really strike me as interesting. I will also blog about ANYthing. One of my readers commented that I can take a very mundane task and turn it into something funny.
I was told years ago by one of my writing instructors that you can indeed write about ANYthing. And you can! Especially things that may be unusual to others or subjects with which they can relate. It all goes!
