"Devin Friedman wrote about his experience looking for a black friend on Craigslist in New York City for GQ magazine. Mr. Friedman felt that in his older age that his friend’s racial backgrounds were not diverse enough. Devin Friedman had only two black friends at the time the article was written. Mr. Friedman felt if one of his black friends didn’t show up to a party he was hosting it would leave his little dinner parties with only one black person. He goes to explain his social awkwardness when he is the only white person in the room and felt that is what it must be like to be the only black person in the room. "
