Weeks 4&5: Gain Momentum

Building on prior weeks – keep up what you’re doing.

Step 1:  Add an additional blog post this week – you must post 4 times a week.

Step 2: Planning tweets ahead of time.  Using Tweetdeck or HootSuite schedule tweets about your posts, about posts you’ve read and resonated with you.  Plan 2 a day for the week.

Step 3: Attend a Twitter Party or chat.  What are the hashtags you’ve been following?  (will provide suggestions in various areas) Great way to network and find new people to follow or to follow you.

Step 4: Create favorites. Use Twitter favorites and/or Evernote and start to build an idea journal for your blog posts.  Try writing prompts like Plinky.

Week One: I post AT LEAST once a DAY! It is my commitment to myself and readers. However, I am not sure if anyone is READING it since I have no comments.

My husband urged me to start blogging years ago and I just didn't get it.  I had a personal digital journal, but I rarely shared it with anyone.  Now that I have started blogging I feel like it is a freedom of thoughts and expressions that I share with the world. By nature I am really private so sometimes it is a struggle to open up because I know there are some many eyes watching. I look forward to learning with you all. Cleverly Changing

Glad to find this group. Tried joining a Blog Dare to blog every day of this year, but that has already fallen by the way side. I just don't think it was realistic for what I do. But, this sounds like a great group. Looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

Hi- I'm new here. (well not really, just getting back in the swing of things).

I have 2 blogs and my purpose is the same for both:

* Connect with customers and prospective customers

* Share information

* Introduce & explain new products

* Balance promoting my business with having fun!

Thanks @Margaret, Melissa, Kristy and Shelly for your input. The purpose of my blog, Eating Healthy with Tonya www.tonyapeele.com, is to provide basic nutrition training and quick solutions for healthy eating. I would love to get your thoughts on my blog and ways I can boost traffic. Take a peek and let me know you think I can improve it or narrow my scope.

@Tonya, my first blog started for my business selling doll clothes.  Then when I started doing book reviews and giveaways I started my second one.  During the last few months, both have been neglected so this is the jumpstart that I need.

@ Tonya - We started our podcast and blog to be a community for moms of young kids to talk about not being perfect moms.  It began because my best friend and I needed another excuse to talk to each other every week and we started recording those conversations!

Question for the whole group - what is your purpose for authoring a blog? I keep revisiting this question because of the work involved and currently poor results. I have a new book that I need to promote, workshops to teach, family to raise, etc etc etc. Trying to find motivation to keep my blog alive.
