Guess My Guest

Posted on September 4, 2008 at 1:30pm 0 Comments

I interviewed one of the most recorded bass players in the history of music for my blog. The interview runs next week (YES! I'm so very excited!!!!)

So, today I'm running a contest. Guess My Guest for a chance to win an autographed CD. Just stop by my blog, She Lives, and leave a comment with your guess!

(YES! You have heard MANY of this bassist's recordings. Absolutely!)

Good luck!

FREE Book for 'Tween Girls - Just Ask Me For It

Posted on August 24, 2008 at 10:49am 0 Comments

I am giving away three FREE copies of the book Between Us Girls by Vicki Courtney. This is a gorgeous book, colorful and very magazine-like in appearance. It is packed full of wholesome talk for girls, some of it by other girls who have BTDT. It is Christian in nature and strongly emphasizes virtue and godliness.

I'll send a FREE copy to the first three moms to run over to my blog and ask me for it… Continue

Charity Gigs are the Toughest, I Think.

Posted on August 5, 2008 at 12:39am 0 Comments

There are just some things that are difficult to face in this life. But we do what we can to help and we count our blessings along the way.

I'm playing several charity gigs between now and the holidays. I think the three toughest ones are the Alzheimer's Memory walks I'll be playing in two different cities and this gig right here.

How important is basic music theory?

Posted on July 28, 2008 at 12:20pm 0 Comments

I may be stirring up the hornet's nest with my opinion that musicians should learn to read and speak the language of music. It's true that a lot of musicians have become very successful without these basic skills, but I really don't see why they never made the effort to learn.

Hi Carol! I am a stay at home wife and mom who works at home. I have two kiddos, "Sean Sean" (boy 4 years) and Sherry (girl 2 years). I am truly blessed that I am able to stay home and take care of my family and my hubby is a great man of God! I love homemaking, encouraging women to find their God given gifts and talents and pursue them, encouraging women to have multiple streams of income flowing through their home, maximizing energy and health so that you can handle kingdom business, hospitality, spending time with family and friends, and "talking about it all"!! LOL....

Please help me out and I will do the same for you! After all we all here to help and support one another :o)  Starting in July I have my blog launching called VMOMS which stands for Virtuous Moms of Multiple Streams!  I am filled with excitement as this is one of my many passions.  So if you would take a moment to do the following:

Follow my blog:

Hi there from The Girlz Korner in upstate New York where you'll find light, witty and rather entertaining articles on every topic imaginable from The Little Black Dress to Making Whoopie. So if you get a chance to kick back and exhale, if only for a brief moment ... come on over and see me some time.

Carol -- I need some HELP! I was on the EC MBC Droppers widget (listed as CurlySue), but I accidentally deleted it from my blog when I uploaded my new layout. Is there any way you can send me the code?

Your blog is very interesting. I sing in church and have sung with a couple groups. My husband is a musician also, he plays keys. I will definitely tell him about your blog!

Carol, I can't thank you enough for your help with Entrecard. That does make a lot of sense. I do have a question about the emails I have been getting to "approve" ads.

I will look into the EC Moms group - that's great to know!

Much appreciated.
