Do you have second thoughts about posting photos of your kids in a social media?

HiI'm curious. In Denmark we currently have a huge discussion in the media regarding privacy and photos of children online. Now that it is summer, photos of children at the beach in their swimsuit (or without clothes) are flodding Facebook and other public social media channels.A Danish Childrens Fund is now warning all parents from posting photos of their children in public fora, saying that the photos are likely to be used by pedophiles. They are also arguing that the children should have a…Continue

Tech Entrepreneur at heart - Part time mom of Simon (11), expecting mom of a little girl and full-time CEO at Filihood!

Woman with a mission, a vision and a determination on succeeding in both family and business (trying hard at least:-)

My name is Dorte (very difficult to pronounce in English – I know)

I live in Aarhus, Denmark. 36 years old (at least for another month). As I said, I am an entrepreneur and CEO at Filihood.com – a Family app working on bringing families closer.

I am that kind of woman who has an opinion about almost everything, and not afraid of sharing it – even the less popular ones. I am stubborn and enthusiastic, loving, honest and consistent. This blog is a way for me to let my thoughts and opinions run free. I have a lot at heart, both when it comes to being a mother of an 11 year old boy, a soon to be mother of a little girl AND that mother of a startup business.

I hope to inspire, but aim to at least plant a thought in your head about, just how much you are cabable of if you put your mind to it :-)
I have been blogging since...

HISTORY DOESN’T DEFINE YOU. YOUR CHOICES DOES

Imagine that you stand on the edge of a platform at the swimming pool... Blindfolded!

You have no idea how high up the platform is, if it is the 1-meter, 5-meter or the 10-meter platform. You have no idea if there is water in the pool, and you are not at all sure if you can actually swim! That…

Your kid won't eat healthy food? Here is an idea :-)

Have them cook with you :-)

If you make it fun to participate in making the meals, they will look at the food differently... AND as a bonus, they might LIKE cooking and keep on helping :-) I have an 11 year old and he LOVES to cook.

When he was just 4-5 years old, he sat on the kitchen…

Juggling beeing a Mompreneur

How do I juggle being a good mother and running Filihood?

I can tell you this... I definitely do not always succeed! It is obvious that when you regularly have to "downgrade" your child, because of a business trip or a meeting, it is associated…

Having a baby in a start-up business = bad timing - maybe?

My thoughts on the subject of having a child in the midst of a hectic time for my business

Honestly, I couldn't cope with the idea, when I found out I was pregnant. The timing was lousy, and originally I didn't intend having more children (I already have e beautiful 11 year old boy - Simon:-)…
