Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I got burnt when I was 2-years old on 75% of my body. All my life I struggled with the concept of being "beautiful". I recently competed in a model search competition and won the "People's Choice Award". Now I'm a keynote speaker inspiring others to find their true beauty from within.

Welcome to MBC, Kelly. Your profile reminds me a little of my Mom. When she was 5, she had a near-fatal disease that required her right jaw bone be removed. She grew up with a huge scar and spent her entire youth overcoming the cruelty/honesty of youth. She came home from school only one time crying about her scar and her looks. Her Mom told her she was never allowed to be upset about her scar or her looks again because God gave her that cross to bear and she was to bear it with grace and dignity. As a little 1st grader my Mom decided she would never let her scar and her looks stop her from being all she wanted to be from then on. Inside she hurt sometimes, but she chose to be happy and she was! I was a pretty girl growing up, but I only had 2 marriage proposals. My Mom had seven! Haha. I remember as a small child myself, a friend asked me what was wrong with my Mom's face and I asked her what was she talking about. I didn't know there was anything wrong with my Mom! She was my Mom. There was nothing wrong with her face -- that was her face. Lol. I still do not see her scar. And, she is a gorgeous woman who only gets more gorgeous with age. That is true! No one ever notices her scar anymore.
I am so sorry that you were burnt so badly. You were only 2 years old. I cannot even imagine something so awful. I hope you do not remember the physical pain. I cannot wait to read your blog. I hope I learn more about your experience with the model search competition. How cool! From your picture, I would have not had any idea you had burns over 75% of your body.
Just your profile is inspiring to me. I sometimes battle depression. I have a huge amount of empathy for others and what they feel and that adds to some of my depression. But, even with all you have been through, winning the People's Choice Award makes me smile. I love it!!!
