Share a little something about yourself with other moms.: I'm not really a fan of trying to sum up my life in a few sentences. It usually makes me look pretty lame and boring... and ends with me making up a lot of things that I don't actually do... but here goes :)

The basics: I have been married for 2 years to my college sweetheart (who I actually knew in high school), and we have a 9 month old baby boy named Niall. My husband and I share the same values, which I think is really important, but we are very different in most other aspects. I think we compliment each other well, but we butt heads sometimes about what we want to do with our spare time.

I am also a big dreamer. I get really (overly) excited about a new idea, career path or invention almost every day. I also have a lot of semi-passions, none of which I have the time or money for at this point. They include dancing, yoga, wakeboarding, art, traveling and (drum roll please)... board games. Yes, I know, big loser. If I could find a group of people who would play Catch Phrase or Scrabble with me every Friday night, I'd be one happy lady.

Anyway, 2 things that I do have time and love for are playing with Niall and writing, which brings us all here! Enjoy :)

I laughed so hard at your own reaction to his first tantrum. It brought back great memories. I remember long ago telling my Mom that she never taught me how to be a parent. I went and bought a book about discipline. I quickly learned that patience and understanding and smiling a lot is what discipline is all about at Niall's age. He's smart though. Just explain why he cannot touch the dvd player -- he will get it eventually. He probably understands more than we know. Have fun with that sweet boy! I would give anything to go back and do it all over again.
