Share a little something about yourself with other moms.: My name is Paula Jorge Guglielmino, I live in Long Beach, CA with my husband Joe. I am enterting a very new, crazy and exciting time in my life and I’m sharing it with you! I am pregnant with our first child…an exciting prospect that took us a bit by surprise. In addition to being a soon to be mom, I also work full-time and manage my own business along with my sister-in-law Nathalie. I am originally from the Dominican Republic and grew up speaking both Spanish and English equally in the home. As an adult I feel so blessed to have been raised bilingually and it’s become my passion to help other families do the same for their children. Nathalie and I started Professor Pocket, LLC back in 2005. We produce bilingual audio CDs that use storytelling and songs to get preschoolers excited about learning a second language. We make learning Spanish fun and easy for children! The entrepreneurial process has been fun and exhausting at the same time. Nathalie and I have completely self-funded the business, and we’ve learned so much along the way. We’ve had such an amazing response to the CDs, parents tell us all the time that their child is singing all the songs in Spanish! You can check us out at www.professorpocket.com.

A much needed little break...

Joe and I are off to Mexico for our “Babymoon” on Wednesday. Our last hoorah before sleepless nights and breastfeeding take over. I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing, mostly laying on the beach or swimming in the ocean. I have felt so great throughout this pregnancy that when we planned this trip I thought nothing of the fact that I’d be six months pregnant by the time it actually came. I still feel pretty good and am not completely huge yet, but I am a bit nervous about the usual hazards… Continue
