What's passion got to do with it?

I have been teaching dance in Miami for 25 years. After years of pounding and jumping I developed issues with my hips and knees. I followed doctor's orders to walk for rehabilitation but it was boring and my upper body wasn't getting any exercise. I tried the hand weights and poles but they were too bulky and uncomfortable. So I invented Gym in a shoe! Gym in a shoe is two patented resistance bands that easily clip on and off of the eyelet in any athletic shoe so walkers can exercise their arms, shoulders, back, chest, waist and legs while walking with more flow, range and motion and diversity.
I won the "People's choice" award in the Miami Herald sponsored contest "the elevator pitch" at the U of M. That told me that an auditorium full of people who didn't know me nor my product voted me as their favorite.
I also teach a dance class holding the bands called 3D dance and a class called Spiritually Fit which is a combination of stretch and yoga.
What is your blogging philosophy?
When I won the contest I experienced a shift in consciousness! I had been going the 'corporate' route which entails tons of money for advertising, infomercials (very expensive) billboards etc. I needed to go the 'grassroots' route and connect with the consumer. I would like to hear from people who use Gym in a Shoe and get their reactions.
They are a wonderful rehabilitation tool for women who are recovering from breast cancer surgery and people who suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure.
I have been blogging since...

There is no manual that pops out with the baby that tells you exactly how to raise a child.  So what do we do? We ask friends, family or buy books.  The problem with that is we are getting advice from someone else's experiences based on their own environment, family dynamic, genetics, issues or talents.  We need to find out who WE are first and then raising a child will be easy.  How do we do that?  The only way to find answers is to ask questions.

The glitch is that we need to be…

What's passion got to do with it?

We are coming into the season of parties and food. We tell ourselves that we'll start on a new health regiment and fitness program after the holidays. How many times have we told that to ourselves? Why hasn't it worked before? Or maybe it worked for 3 months or even 6. Because it lacked PASSION. Find something you love to do. Shift your consciousness from losing weight to gaining health - from what you HAVE to do to what you WANT to do - from monthly membership at a gym to a WAY OF LIFE.

Thanks Paulette for your comment.

You are right, I exercise by walking 35 - 1hr four days in a week and have lost 21 pounds. And with the great weather in Florida what best way to exercise than to walk.
