How to Make Long Island Tea

Long island tea is a classic drink that you can get in almost any bar, a type of cocktail so old that nobody’s completely sure who even first created it. Despite its name, it’s not actually made using tea: in fact, it’s not even made in a similar way to tea…

Blessed wife. Proud empty nester Mom. Work-in-process Christian. Sarcasm aficionado. Sappy soul whisperer. Sports junkie. I’ve run the gamut as a working, work-from-home, stay-at-home, and now empty nester. God’s kept me honest by pointing out the state of my heart, which is a template for the state of my demeanor, which is a mold for the meter of my faith, which determines the end product of my mothering. Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don’t.

My journey of faith has been replete with profound wonder, humbling failure, painful diversions, and glorious blessings. Motherhood has stirred my soul, moved my heart, awakened my spirit, and filled my life with unending joy. My abiding love for Christ makes it impossible for me to keep my mouth shut about all He has done for me. My blog aims to help moms discover and rediscover God’s involvement in their busy lives through my candid, crazy mom stories and a dash of biblical insight.
What is your blogging philosophy?
My blog invites Christian mothers to discover and rediscover God's involvement in their busy lives through candid personal stories with compelling biblical insight and a touch of thoughtful humor. My hope is to connect through heartstrings and share in the love of motherhood.

A new school year is just around the corner which means an entire slew of us parents will soon sprint, tip toe, or be yanked unwillingly into the empty nest club as a proverbial rite of passage.

Over the years I’ve talked to moms and dads whose feelings about the organic transformation run up and down the emotional gamut. The spectrum is anywhere from…

Love Letter To My Sis-in-Law About To Have Baby #5

Dear Amazing Mom, Beautiful Sis, Faithful Friend, Devoted Wife to My Brother & Loving Aunt to My Kiddos,

Can I be you when I grow up?

Sure, I’ve got you by eleven years and your current four children are age 7 and under, while my three are 18 and over.

So what?

Age and family dynamic are relative. We’re all “growing up” each day. The journey of life is timeless. Wisdom merely represents a singular point on a static spectrum.

Moms out there need to…
