Share a little something about yourself with other moms.: I am a breastfeeding advocate, yet I understand that the barriers which prevent breastfeeding from taking place go far beyond a woman's feeding "choice." Factors which influence breastfeeding rates include, but are not limited to the support a new mother gets (or doesn't) from her spouse, family, background, medical practitioners, and culture. Additionally, after having to deal with physical barriers to breastfeeding (due to hypoplasia and breast biopsies), I understand all-too-well that sometimes it's just not physically possible to breastfeed successfully. I created my blog and website to talk about issues regarding lactation and activism, and to help promote a breastfeeding culture.
