Share a little something about yourself with other moms.: anti establishment in my 20s......tried finding utopia..realized after visiting intentional communities...that people = politics = bullshit = power struggles = life. its a great thing to rethink everything you learned and "know" and discover for yourself what is "real" to you..not just relying on your parents...or religion or whatever to base your entire existence upon. so thats what i did...i re examined my beliefs and the world i thought i knew...and discovered that things arent as they seem.....so i spent my twenties testing the limits of my sanity and finding what i am not..as well as what/who i am...and here i am now in my 30s living out my dreams..and still in the school of life...bc whats life without learning?

Ho hum.....whoa is me. Yet another sweet, well intentioned mama led astray by her deeply trusted yet ignorant and most likely sold out family physician. Ho hum

Grant has a new baby at his day care; an adorable 3 month old whose older sister attends as well. I was ecstatic to hear that he was being nursed while mom was on a nice a phat 3 month maternity leave. Upon seeing the bottles, I asked if she was sending pumped milk. No she wasnt. Bummer. Pregnancy Induced Abdominal Hernia

Yesterday I visited briefly with a general surgeon who specializes in hernia repair. He confirmed what I already knew...that I have a ventral hernia...just above my belly button. The only way to deal with it is to repair it with surgery....and even then its not 100% definite. There is a 5 - 15% chance it could re open and need more repair in the future. He wants to go in laproscopically and put a big piece of mesh, held down by titanium tacks, in my belly!

Mother in law "jokes" that if he can ask for it...he is too old. Casual acquaintance ask, if we are STILL nursing. Godmother wonders...when it will end. Its kinda hilarious...kinda distorted how the general american culture negatively views breastfeeding beyond infancy. Whats the big deal? Guess because my tits are supposed to be for implants and commercials...not the evolution of the species.
