Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I have hobbies and I am a mommy, hence, Poly Hobby Mommy. Yeh, in this day in age a lot of us are. We tend to be underpaid, under-appreciated, over-whelmed and at times it feels over-rated, but our children are priceless.

One of the most depressing part of being “mommy” is that we tend to get overshadowed by this whole mommy thing. Yeh it’s great and all, but it’s really great to be yourself too.

I tend to find myself a rather multi-faceted person. I really believe we all are. I bake, craft, paint, bead, garden, bellydance, homeschool my two boys with Aspergers, and the all mighty keeper of the family schedule. Funny about the whole schedule thing is that I am so very forgetful. Before I did the whole mommy thing with these wild and crazy monkeys of mine, I bellydance, I was a phlebotomist, I was a full-time MLT student, I volunteered for the Redcross, I made crab-pots for my brothers, I babysat my niece & nephews, I worked in a day care, I did all my crafty-stuff, and I still had time to drink with my friends. So while, I am not a student, and employee, a volunteer anymore or a raging alcoholic 20 year old; I still found myself just as busy as then, as I do now. Now I am not the best housekeeper , but I think I have done a good shot at this whole mommy business.

While I may daydream a lot and have a lot of hobbies, I am a sloth in comparison to my children. They are constantly on the move and there is always 10 projects and at least two inventions a day. Ian, my wonderful hubby, has more ideas then he or I can even remember. Ranging to being a wonderful father, web designer, wood worker, writer, and an avid tinkerer… And, in the middle of our whorl wind, lives my mother, our husky named Sonny, a boxer named Winston, a cockatiel named Zelda, a hermit crabbed called Mr. Super Crabs, and three leopard geckos that have no name, because they all look alike.

So here I will rant about the kids, the pets, the hubby and the sex, the mom, and all the beautiful chaos that fills our bitter sweet life.
I have been blogging since...
off and one sense I was 16.. mostly off :)

GAPS Diet, It has helped the boys

Posted on May 10, 2012 at 1:21pm 0 Comments

I found out about GAPS via a mom at the OT office . Two year a go, there wasn't much about this, but sense then, it seems to have blossomed. I just wanted to share two great site that has helped my kids. I wasn't that stick. We already ate bone broths, and I already cooked everything homemade. I did have to switch to making GF breads vs other breads that I made. I did have to switch noodles.  Also, I took a year to make the switch. My kids were so finicky about foods, that I couldn't change…

Methylation, Glutathione, and Vitamin B12 by Dr. Jerry Kartzinel

Posted on May 10, 2012 at 1:15pm 0 Comments

Another very interesting read regarding methylation, glutathione and Vit. B12.  According to Dr. Kartzinel, there is a link between the lack of consumption or production of these vitamins and a family history of schizophrenia, alcoholism, bi-polar disease, depression, attention deficit disorder, constipation, and autism. This makes me wonder about…

A day well spent at the Autism Summit

Posted on October 31, 2011 at 8:46pm 0 Comments

Today was a success! We had a plan this year. Last year we stuck around about an hour too long. This year, we brought separate cars and as soon as Ian & boys couldn’t take the noise anymore, they hit the door running. Meltdowns successfully averted… (patting myself on the back now as we speak)

If you have yet to go  to one of these events, you are missing out. Ok, perhaps it’s not the end of the world, but some of the information you get is priceless. Not to mention the…
