Christ follower. Wife. Stay-at-home mom of two. Learning what it means to be grateful for what I have and find joy in everyday moments.
What is your blogging philosophy?
Welcome to I am Elaine. This blog is a place to explore what it means to this stay at home mom and wife to find joy and be grateful now. With what I already have. To rejoice in how wonderfully made my children are, and how life can be completely unexpected and predictable at the same time. For more, read this post.

I was blessed to be able to leave my job in June of 2013 to become a stay at home mom after our second child was born. The transition has caused me to reevaluate and redefine my goals, and search for my value and place. This has been a rewarding, challenging, and beautifully messy time. I thank the Lord daily that He has not given up on me yet because I certainly struggle. My expectations were unrealistic at best, and I’ve had to adjust not only what I expect, but what I desire each day. Being grateful for what I have and where I am now is not natural to me. I have to practice. I have to try, to set goals for what I want to accomplish as a mom, wife, woman, and follower of Jesus Christ.

I need to know that there are things I can do to help my child thrive in the midst of something very serious and not-so-fun.

7 DO’s and DON’Ts after your Child’s Public Meltdown

Posted on January 25, 2017 at 4:49pm 0 Comments

Our family recently took a 6 day trip to Maine for our niece’s wedding. The wedding was amazing (and our son was possibly the cutest ring bearer EVER – and YES, I’m biased).

The flight to Maine with our 3 and 1 year old kids was surprisingly pleasant.

While I didn’t expect our return…
