What a week. Last weekend I had a shopping event in Columbus GA and was noticeably tired. My trusty assistant and baby girl "J" was an enormous help to me when we returned home. I thought I might be coming down with something so I told "J" I needed to rest. Well, it was a little more serious than needing a short respite. I HAD THE FLU! and it knocked me on my butt. I thought to myself, I do not have time for this. Well, it did not matter if I had time or not. I folded hard. I mean the…

Back when I was pregnant, I told myself I wouldn't be lazy and wear my pajamas all day when my kid arrived. I would attempt to stay as hip and cool as I was pre baby, which we all know wasn't that cool, so the bar was set low. I would shower everyday, even if that meant at 7pm at night, it would still count...IT WOULD. I would brush my teeth, I would brush my hair, cuz I'm not trying to harbor a gaggle of birds, I would pluck my eye brows, I would, ya know, be hygienic. That's easy enough…

I'm sorry I didn't tell you we were going to try for another baby. I get that this hurt you, but to be honest I don't think I knew how to tell you. Our lives are so different, I wasn't sure how you'd take it or that you'd be happy for me.
I've really wanted to…

The answer to that question is probably no one. Especially, those who have kids. Pizza seems to be an important staple of the American diet that translates into an approximate $32 billion dollar a year industry with the average person eating 46 slices of pizza a year (get all the stats here).
In my family, we tend to use pizza as that fall back meal. When you are running short of time and energy it’s easy to just order a…

Now is Your Time My husband and I have been doing a lot of research lately on life insurance. We know it is something important to have, especially now that we have a baby. If anything were to happen to either of us, we want to make sure that our sweet baby is taken care of. A woman came into our home the other day to talk about our medical history and to do a medical exam on us. As we were filling out the paper work, I realized something. Rewind eight years ago. My husband (boyfriend at the…

I cannot be the only one…who has spent the last several years of their lives in a perpetual state of begging their child to eat. Not just the typical, “Eat your vegetables,” but a pleading to eat something, anything, even the one part of the meal that you were sure your child would eat (like grapes or French fries). This has been a running theme in our house since the day the Sonny Boy was born (literally, read…

Like all busy moms, I can easily procrastinate and spend time scrubbing the floors like Cinderella rather than get myself to the Ball and dance, or in my case, getting myself to my computer and write.
I asked Paige Ritchie, Business and Life Coach, for some advice on how to stay focused. Here's what she has to suggest. Thanks Paige!
You're welcome, Marcia.
It’s often hard to focus on writing when the kids are running…
