I know I have been MIA for the past week. I have been busy with the usual, driving kiddos around, homework, mediating sibling quarrels, repeatedly cleaning up the same messes (if I had a quarter for every piece of dog food that doesn’t make it into our dog’s mouth I would be halfway to a millionaire!), etc. And in my free time (I just made myself lol! Free time, what is that!?), let’s be honest, it is more like on my in-between drop-offs and pickups I run into stores that are on my route (I…Continue

I was pregnant for the First time. It was very early in our marriage and we were not quite prepared, yet like any first timer there was a gush of excitement running through me. I wondered whether the baby was a boy or a girl, and dreamed about what my child would look like. We had been to the doctors and knew for certain that we were 6 weeks pregnant. The next night I woke up in discomfort to discover bright red stains. I knew it shouldn’t have been there. My heart was racing, my stomach…Continue

Traveling with kids is a bit like opening up Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates – you never know what you’re gonna get. After all, even the best kids can be moody and unpredictable, whiney and unruly. So the best thing that you can do is pack plenty of patience, be (at least mentally) prepared for anything and have a few tricks up your sleeves.
Although the patience and mental strength necessary for traveling with kids is something that only you can muster, the tricks and techniques…Continue

I am a Mon of three little darlings at home on maternity leave. My kids are four, three and five weeks old!. We have to think of loads of ways to entertain ourselves. On rainy days which there are plenty of in little green Ireland we really have to think hard!. Four colours in a row is a good game, this obviously is only for two players and not suitable for small children and must be supervised play! Then there is story time where we read a story and the kids must listen. Then I give…Continue

My little darling is now five weeks old and is sleeping for six hours at night time. I cannot praise her enough and I feel like new girl!. I have kept the feeds three to four hourly during the day and finally got her turned around from a day dreamer and night owl to a day onlooker and night dreamer. Hopefully fingers crossed this is our turning point. I lift her at eleven pm and feed her as much as she will take and put her down and that is her until five thirty this morning. It has made…Continue
