I put my boots on and trudged through the new snow out to the barn to fax a 137 paged document to my mortgage company…. yet again.
As the cogs in the fax machine began to squeak I stood in Wade’s sacrificial office, which is the antithesis of mine, playing with the smoke that was emitting from my mouth and nose. For me he built a beautiful office, inside the house, with a huge window facing South and situated directly next to the kitchen so I can jut in and out preparing meals and… Continue

I actually created this site out of lack of something to do and it has become my little side project. I really think it’s come together nicely and there has been a flood of emails from people requesting to have their giveaways and contests listed. It’s awesome considering the site is brand new.
So, take a look around the site. Everything should be working fine. If not, just let me know and I’ll fix it right away. And don’t forget to list any and all of your events. People are gonna… Continue

Well it is Halloween week and I cannot even begin to describe how excited my son is to go trick-or-treating and overdose on sugary things. This year he has chosen to be a pirate (exact costume below, but not him in the picture). In previous years he has been a lion, a Power Ranger, a ninja, and a Transformer (Bumblebee).
I of course will be wearing my usual costume, Mom who helps carry the candy and watches, and… Continue

Do you have a desire to make your home an inviting haven to your family and all who enter it? I know that I do, but in the busyness of life, I sometimes forget to do just that. I have learned that it won’t just happen, I have to make it happen! The only way I have found to make it happen is by setting a goal for it.
Won’t it be fun to to challenge, encourage, and inspire one another by sharing what we are doing to create a peaceful… Continue

Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
A common scripture that Christian parents of small children cling to. I write this post as I'm listening to the cries of my two year old in her bedroom. She made it until just over two years before we converted the crib to a toddler bed. But with her new realization that she can now escape her imprisonment, my security (IE climb out of… Continue

I am thinking about having a giveaway!!!
Exciting isn't it?
I'm not sure which way to do it...do I have my giveaway at 100 posts or 100 followers?
As of right now I have 52 followers and this will make my 65th post. Maybe I should make it a "whichever comes first"? It's a chicken or the egg kind of toss up.
I also need thoughts on what to giveaway!
I'm a Giveaway Virgin! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone! I have a Reputation To Uphold You Know! (Sally said that to… Continue

In time for Halloween, I am here hoping to repost my real life experience with the unknown that had me screaming, running and breaking in cold sweats. They used to tell me that I do have this THIRD-EYE that one of my grandmother have as well. I I can have it developed so I can talk to spirits and dead people…WHOA WHO WOULD WANT THAT?! Well, not me!
Still, I had my share of these hair-raising experiences that I would be so glad not to experience again. JUST CLICK ON EACH HEART… Continue

Ever since Munch was a baby, we've made a trek out to Dixon to a great farm where we go on hay rides and pick a pumpkin off the vine-
it's the same place we head to chop down a Christmas tree

A study released this week* proved that participation in formal swimming lessons cuts the risk of drowning for children ages 1-4 by 88%. Remember the first time you gave your new baby a bath? That rather concerned look on their face when you lowered them carefully into the water and then that flicker of recognition, ‘oh yes, water, I floated in my warm and comforting cocoon for the previous 9 months before you ejected me in a rather forceful manner’. I remember that my two quickly came to love… Continue

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year- what a bonus for working moms! No need to race home from work to take your children door to door. No need to feel guilty that you can't make it home until past dark. Halloween is on Saturday this year- what a wonderful thing! My son is of the age where he thinks it's hysterical to dress up like a cheerleader and actually convinced me to buy him the outfit. Pom poms and all. My daughter, on the other hand, had her mind set on being Hannah Montana which… Continue

There is great concern, bordering on hysteria about the swine flu/ H1N1 virus spreading across the country and beyond and the battle over who should and shouldn’t get the vaccine. Pregnant women are getting mixed messages and several hundred (already suffering) kids have passed away from the flu, as they do each year. Rightfully so, everyone is worried about the children and what they should do to protect them.
There is great concern about child abduction. There have been terribly… Continue
