Can you imagine living with no electricity. Here in New England, many of us are living without electricity, water, lights, toilets:)
I think people are doing quite well overall; many going to hotels, many staying with relatives, others staying home in the cold and visiting those that have the essentials.
We went without for one day. So blessed was I, that the Lord took care of my dilemna. I was having my first women's tea party from my church (my husband is the pastor) and my thirteen… Continue

Went to the doc. Said I was pregnant with the urine test… told him to do the Blood test… It was negative… man! I was sooo peeved…
Yesterday was a huge snow in day… was SO much fun… we actually went out side for a walk to the Grocery store and then had fun in the snow… never laughed so hard in my life… AH, good times. Of course we went back in for some hot co-co… who doesn’t?
I had a horrible dream the other day…… Continue

Never have I been to a huge church that actually takes care of everyone like James River does. I mean there could be 10,000 people that go there but it doesn't feel like it. They recently donated toys to 2 local elementary schools and the Boys & Girls town of Springfield here. My daughter was very fortunate to be a student at one of the schools they gave gifts too. It was wonderful. She got abt 4 things in her bag and they even performed a play for them. We have been blessed beyond measure… Continue

Can you believe it's Fun Fact Friday already?!?!
It seems like this week flew by and I can't believe it. There are only 5 more days left until Christmas! Are YOU ready?
Today's fun fact is that our house has acquired a can man. Every weekend our friends, family, and neighbors stop by for some good company and a few drinks. We are too lazy to return all the cans for the 5 cent deposit so instead we just chuck em into our recycling bin. Some weekends we easily fill up 1-3 blue bins… Continue

I never thought this would come so soon. My 6 year old son told me, when I asked him why he wouldn’t let me kiss him especially when we were in school, “I’m all grown up. My classmates would see you giving me a kiss…” I got surprised when he said that. But I followed his answer up with a question: “What’s wrong with me kissing you?” But he was not able to reply as his classmates started coming in. I left the room feeling sad and kind of confused. I wanted to hug and kiss my kids always and let… Continue

I just read an article from Real Simple about tech etiquette
I'm not sure that I've ever seen the do's an don'ts actually written out. It just seems like tech etiquette is just a bunch of unwritten rules concerning what we consider to be the norms. But then again, the tech world is… Continue

I am afraid my friends that I MAY be the victim of an internet scam. No I didn't fall for the guaranteed millions in the Nigerian lotto. No I didn't give my bank account number and first born to a widower in Turkey (or was it Hungry?). I didn't buy penis enlargement pills, decide to try the new Acai Berry, or that new breast enhancement cream. Although.... *looks down at my chest* I might want to try that next.
No my friends, this possible scam I got into all by… Continue

Writing letters to Santa Claus is an age-old tradition for children all over the world. Macy's is collecting these letters in a special Santa letterbox at all Macy's stores. For each letter received, Macy's will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Believe Meter will measure America's belief, based on our collective spirit – including the amount of letters received and other current events that reflect the season's generosity.…

You know the words to that christmas carol don't you? Well, if it wasn't for my son coming home from college from Michigan tomorrow, I would be singing that song with joy! Don't get me wrong, I love the snow and looking out the window right now, we have a bit added in with more ice and my candles in the windows are glowing gorgeously with the backgroundsnow. But boy, I sure miss my son. I have not seen Luke for a few months now since he went back to college. He is a pre-seminary student and… Continue

So I'm at home sick today with this blasted cold that's lasted almost a month. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know I know. I'm going to the Dr. this afternoon. I think that's typical for mommies though. We let ourselves get so run down until we can't go anymore, THEN we do something about it. My husband was getting after me to call the dr. while I was dressing our son for school, but I was too concerned in making sure the leftover sticker magnets I brought home from work… Continue

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through Paris, men made their lists and checked them twice.
Cartier pour Carole…
Boucheron for Brigitte…
And last but not least, a little Van Cleef and Arpels for Valérie.
Yes, Christmas is usually when the Other Women make out like bandits.
But not this year.
According to an article in Point de Vue, the recession will penalize multi-millionaires – and in particular their… Continue

I am so blessed that Washington D.C. along withFirst Lady Bush is allowing Christmas music to play in ther city. What would Christmas be without Jesus our Lord and Saviour. Listening to the words of the music and enjoying the lights and colors of the show itself are such a blessing to watch this evening on TNT tv instead of watching the regular news stations.
Let us remember this season "the Babe the Son of Mary" and our "Saviour that died for our sins!"

Have you gotten your Christmas shopping done yet? I read a report this morning that said 41% of people haven't even started. So...I searched over Walmart.com today to find some cheap last minute gifts for you. Clothing and accessories I think are a biggie so that is what I have posted for you. For a majority of these gifts you can do either free ship to store or pay .97 each for shipping.…

I'm sure you've come across something you just had to have either online or in the store. Usually, you find it on sale and you're having an interior conflict with yourself on whether to buy it or not. This conflict might include, "Do I really need it?" or "I know it's on sale, but is it at the best price". The first question is really going to be a judgment call on your part. This could be a difficult task. The most important thing you need to question is, "Do I… Continue

This year is my fifth time making Christmas greeting cards with my kids pictures. First year when my son Andre was four months we made an appointment at JC Penney, dressed him up in the cutest outfit, and spent about an hour trying different sets and props. Unfortunately, he slept through the 'photo shoot'. But we got a cute Christmas card, where you couldn't really see the background, just a nice card with a picture of a cute sleeping baby. I spent about $80 and I was happy to have my… Continue
