Stay Dedicated To Your Plan

Ordinary days can shift at any moment

This morning, started out as any typical Sunday morning. My sons and I got up, dressed, loaded up in the car and headed to church. We were about 3 miles from church when we hit a roadblock. Evidently, something happened to the power line on the corner. The power crew appeared to be hard at work repairing the issue. Now while I have traveled this road hundreds of times, never have I had to go on a side street.

Always be prepared to go…

Is 90% Enough? Maybe

What do you think? Is 90% Good enough, it just might be! I read an article about course design. It was very interesting and informative. One day I will share some of the amazing insights I learned about course design, but today I want to share with you a quote that gave me an Ah Ha! Moment. While the quote was applicable to the topic, it also, in my opinion, has some great life applications.

Seeking…

Stepping Out Beyond Yourself - Starting Your Blog

Making the decision to blog is a huge decision.  There are many factors to consider, the time commitment, the technical challenges and finding your voice. However, the greatest challenge by far is stepping beyond yourself and stepping out of your comfort zone.

In a video, I created for my website I focused on this idea. I shared 3 tips to stepping out of your comfort zone. (I also created an informative PDF). What I wanted to emphasize is that the change you seek, the impact you make…

Independence is the goal.

"Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes." -Hugh Prathe

It seems like that is the theme of my life these days. "Change". It seems more constant than anything else. There is no more normal, just the "New Normal".

While it has been over five years since my ex-husband and I separated, and it has been 2 years since our divorce was finalized, it only seems as if in the last year have I found my "normal again".

That is until this school year started.…

My Journey Through Motherhood: "The 7 Hour ER Visit"

On yesterday my 8-year-old son spiked a fever of about 100.2. Now I wasn’t to alarm as I have battled with fevers at 101 and 102 in the past. And you fellow moms know that is scary! I did not get alarmed with the 100.2. I started my routine Tylenol, and Motrin regimen. What alarmed me was when he woke up crying that something was poking him in his throat. He was beginning to panic. (And to be honest, so was I on the inside.) But I assure him he would be fine. I…

Keeping focused and protecting my time!

One of my greatest challenge is staying focused! Like most moms, it seems that I am continually adding things to my plate. (I mean constantly) ...I know my intent is odd. I really want to help people, so my response is usually "YES!" when someone asks for my help.

However, recently I made decision to protect my time. If I am not doing the right things to take care of myself, there is absolutely no way I will be any good to anyone else. So what does this look like? I have made a lot…
