Going back to school can be difficult.
It's actually a very tiring experience even if you've everything humanly possible to prepare for it.
So it only makes sense that when your kids come home from a long day of overwhelming socialization, learning, and self-preservation they will need some time to decompress and unwind from the day.
But as a parent what…

For my children there is nothing in this world more exciting than food.
I don't know if they get it from me (because, I admit, food is my downfall) or if it's because they are growing boys, but when my kids hear that there is food involved in anything they are all over it.
So, as it would seem, when it comes to going back to school food is a really big deal.…

Today's post is one that is near and dear to my heart:
Organization!
There's just something special about seeing an organized space, no matter where it's located, that gets my heart a-pumpin'. It's a beautiful thing.
And when it comes to Back to School nothing makes the day go by faster (and with much less stress) than having a great organization system…

One thing as a parent I have complete mixed feelings about every year is shopping for Back to School.
On the one hand I'm excited because, hello, shopping.
One the other hand I'm dreading it because, well, shopping.
I love buying clothes for my kids. And I love when I can send them off to school looking their best in every way...
But the thought…

One of the biggest parts of getting ready for Back to School in the Larios house has to do with getting my boys back on a sleep schedule.
I've always been a stickler for any type of schedule for my kids; otherwise the days are just pure chaos. But as my kids have gotten older I've slowly come to my senses and let up…

In the mindset of my oldest son the summer is still in full swing. He sees nothing in his future outside of playing, eating ice-cream, and his new bicycle.
For me, unfortunately, the end of summer and start of school is coming closer and closer everyday.
Now that August has made it's presence known (with some chilly and fall feeling weather I might add) I'm…

As many of you have gathered from previous posts, I'm not a fan of the wild creatures that inhabit the world outside my front door.
I love my gardens, I enjoy the grass on my toes, camping to a limited degree, and I do enjoy watching the birds come to the feeder my grandfather built on my deck.
I actually consider it one of my favorite past times to sit at my kitchen table with a cup of coffee and watch the graceful creatures come and go about their business.
I can't…

I'm sure by now everyone has heard the term "the man cold". The common cold that turns anyone with a "y" chromosome over the age of 18 into a newborn puppy who needs it's mother.
My husband gets these "man colds".
At least once a year he's couch-bound and whining like he's knocking on death's door (and as pathetic as it is I do tend to find some entertainment in the…

It was bound it happen sooner or later; and, frankly, I would have preferred later.
Since I became a mom everyone I've talked to has brought up the fact that kids grow up quickly. To enjoy the moments.
And, as annoying as that advice can be sometimes, I've tried to listen. To hold my memories close and my kids closer.
But when the moment my baby stopped being my baby and started being my little boy happened, I was still taken completely by surprise.
And so was my…

When you have children, you pretty much understand that your life will forevermore be filled with poop.
You'll be changing poopy diapers, analyzing poop for content, texture, and frequency, and discussing poop with everyone you come in contact with; whether you know them or not.
It's just a fact of life for a parent.
Deal with it and move on (hence the blatant use of the word poop).
But one thing you can look forward to is that the occurrence of all these things…
