There are just some things that are difficult to face in this life. But we do what we can to help and we count our blessings along the way.

I'm playing several charity gigs between now and the holidays. I think the three toughest ones are the Alzheimer's Memory walks I'll be playing in two different cities and this gig right here.

I may be stirring up the hornet's nest with my opinion that musicians should learn to read and speak the language of music. It's true that a lot of musicians have become very successful without these basic skills, but I really don't see why they never made the effort to learn.

Finding a good music teacher can be a rough go. They don't usually list in the Yellow Pages. I had a couple of crummy music teachers when I was a kid. I also had some really good ones. So far, I've been pleased with the instructors I've chosen for my kids.

If you're considering music lessons for your youngster, here are some tips that may help you along.
