4 Small Changes You Can Apply Today To Transform Your Hair Health

Your hair is potentially the most important part of your appearance. While having fantastic skin is desirable, most people struggle with the idea of losing their hair. It’s part of your identity, can help you feel more confident, and compliments every outfit you wear.

If hair wasn’t so important there wouldn’t be so many products available for it. 

Fortunately, getting your hair to look and feel fantastic is easier than you think. You just need to make these four simple changes.

1. Look At The Product

The most important thing you can do for hair health is to look at the products you’re putting on your hair on a daily basis. It’s essential that you avoid products filled with chemicals and artificial ingredients. They may make your hair look shiny but they are likely to be damaging it and your scalp.

2. Avoid Heat Tools

Heat dries hair. Using heat styling tools on your hair means you’re sucking the moisture out and damaging the top protective layer. In short, your hair will become brittle, making it easy to break. Alongside this, remember that your hair is mainly protein and water. Getting enough protein in your diet and drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, will help your hair to be at its healthiest. 

4. Reduce Stress

Stress is bad for your overall health and for the health of your hair. When you’re stressed your body releases a hormone called cortisol. This hormone prepares your body to respond to a stressful situation and, as part of the preparation, it shuts down the production of various other hormones. 

This can be detrimental to the health of your hair as well as damaging to your mental health. Some stress is unavoidable and necessary for a healthy lifestyle. But, there are situations you know will be stressful you can avoid. Or, you can deal with the stress by learning breathing and calming exercises. 

These simple changes will make a noticeable difference to the quality of your hair, and it won’t take long for the results to be visible.
