Sometimes, simply saying thank you just doesn’t feel like enough. When someone does you a huge favour or really goes out of their way for you, you may feel like you want to do a little more to show your appreciation. So for those instances when words just won’t suffice, here are 7 creative ideas to help you say thank you in a more meaningful way:
● Make them a little gift bag or basket. Fill it up with treats like a few scrumptious cupcakes/fresh flowers or pretty ornaments. Include a meaningful present such as Willow Tree figurines, or a scarf or little bottle of their favourite perfume. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy. Just a thoughtful and token gesture to treat them and show your appreciation.
● Write them a thank you letter or a poem. A handwritten thank you letter or poem is sure to make someone feel truly appreciated. It can be a great way to express your gratitude in your own words. If you do decide to opt for a poem, try to branch out from ‘roses are red’ and make it more personalised. Handwriting it and sending it in the post adds that extra personal touch.
● Dedicate a social media post to them. Today’s equivalent of ‘shouting it from the rooftops’. Put together a snazzy collage of pictures with a heartfelt post declaring your thanks on Facebook or Instagram. Let’s face it, this is where most of us are spending the majority of our time these days, so it’s easy to do. And this way everyone else can also see just how grateful you are!
● How about a video message? Perfect for thanking those who may not be so closeby. Creating a special thank you video is great as it means that they can keep it and replay it if they ever want to feel good about themselves!
● Bake them a thank you cake or cookie. Even if you don’t have the best baking skills, it’s the thought that counts. What’s great about baking is that you can ice on a personalised message. A giant cookie with a thank you frosting is guaranteed to make anyone smile!
● Show some support for a cause they care about. Most people have causes or issues that they care deeply about. You can show your thanks to someone by donating your time or money to a charity of their choice.
● Cook them a thank you meal. Who doesn’t love a home cooked meal made especially for them? Prepare a feast of their favorite foods as a gesture of your appreciation.
