Have you ever wondered just what in the world your teens are listening on their stereos, excuse me I mean iPods? Is it mumbo jumbo that you don't understand? Have you found yourself turning into your own parents and saying, "When I was coming up, they made REAL music!" And my goodness can they curse and degrade women just a little bit more? Well you don't have to worry about any of that when you're listening to tobyMac! Our entire family grooves to his CD playing in the van or when we're watching him live in concert on DVD. His sounds range from hard rock to R&B, Latin to Reggae, and his lyrics are positive, filled with hope, love, and the message of Christ.

Growing up in the VA suburbs adjacent to DC, tobyMac (aka Kevin Michael McKeehan - birthday) remembers falling in love with the beats, rhymes and production of early rap. “I remember hearing a Kurtis Blow/Trouble Funk song on the radio and going to a local record store, and they didn’t have it. Since I couldn’t drive yet, I took the Metrorail into downtown DC and found a store that had that song; I bought the Sugarhill Gang’s Rappers Delight that day as well. From there, it just caught fire. I fell in love with hip-hop music."

tobyMac has always been a man driven and committed in every area of his life, whether it's as a husband, father, performer, song-writer and producer, businessman or President of Gotee Records. And while he's "arrived" by anyone's standards, the Grammy nominations, gold records and number one singles haven't slowed him down one bit. He's as committed today as a "success" as he was as a new face in Christian / Gospel music.

His Winter Wonder-Slam tour kicks off on November 11, 2008. He's coming to my area November 20th. You can best believe me, the hubby, and the teens will be there front and center! And, from the music you hear playing, you know why!
