We know many of you here are brand-new to relatively new bloggers and the option of attending a blogging conference may not be on your radar just yet. However, you may begin to want to start planning to attend a local or national blogging conference next year or perhaps the year after that.

So, are conferences worth the expense? The quick answer is it all depends.

Some bloggers strategically attend conferences that are only close to them. There are so many conferences these days that you really can pick and choose the ones you want to attend. Attending local conferences definitely cuts down on travel expenses. If you decide to attend conferences that require a long road trip or flight you will definitely need to consider that cost when deciding to attend a conference.

Additionally, don’t forget the cost of a conference ticket. They can be pricey as well. Think about how much it will cost for accommodations. Some moms split hotel costs and have roommates. Others prefer having their own room which means the cost will be higher. Oftentimes, if you are asked to speak at a conference they will provide your accommodations for free, but that’s not always the case.

And, don’t forgot about food and remember drinks can add up! And, finally, you want to look good and make a great impression so likely you will want to buy a few great outfits.

Considering all of that when you do the math it might be worth it to attend a conference and then again it just may not.

However, many bloggers love networking with brands that turn into potential clients. And, meeting bloggers you admire or are friends with online is a great incentive.

Blogging conferences oftentimes puts newer bloggers on the map simply because they are present. The old adage is true: Out of sight, out of mind. If you show up and have a plan then all of the money you spend may be well worth it?
