Are you on your way to Vegas? If so it’s a fair guess that you are not going there for a picnic, but instead, intend to gamble till you drop. However, though this might seem totally incredible, the fact still remains that there’s much more to Vegas than gambling and there are a lot of other reasons apart from the casinos that should motivate you and anyone else to pay it a visit.
With that being the case, here are the top 3 things to do and places to visit if you do make it to the all-fabulous entertainment emporium that is Sin City.
Dam It To…! ever heard of the Hoover Dam? Well, it spans the Black Canyon and the mighty Colorado River and lies a mere 30 miles southeast of Vegas. Since 1937 it has been designated an American National Historic Landmark site and was built in the early years of the last century.
In the Hoover Dam lies the swirling waters of Lake Mead, which forms the biggest reservoir in the US and keeps the neon lights of Vegas flashing and gleaming 24/7. The dam also supplies power to the city of Nevada and yearly counts more than a million people as visitors.
A trip to the dam costs peanuts. A 30-minute tour is $15 and for that, you get to see the mightily thundering power plant. Children of ages 4-16, as well as seniors, can pay just $12, which is a very good bargain.
Rock Along With Red Rock Canyon!- the Red Rock Canyon is a required visit for those taking a trip to Vegas. It lies a mere 17 miles southeast of Sin City and is located right in the Mojave desert.
Getting there requires a car trip, though lots of folks might choose to bike or hike if they are into some form of body punishment. There are picnic areas and visitor centres aplenty which are open all through the year.
Should the sight of this canyon be a letdown, you can orient yourself east and travel 125 miles to the Grand Canyon, which is sure to move your tender feelings.
The Strip Is The Limit!- Not every casino in Vegas is on the Las Vegas Strip, but it is sure worth a look-see. The sights include the New York-New York roller-coaster that moves at blinding speed across famous recreations of the New York skyline. This is located near the MGM Grand and offers a totally spellbinding view. The experience is much more elaborate than playing on online bingo sites with free sign up bonus.
Right in the strip centre are recreations of pyramids, the Eiffel Tower and Paris. These are all wonderfully rendered and are perfect spots for taking memorable and meme-worthy photos.
Yet another wonderful spot on the strip is right outside the all-famous Bellagio, where the iconic fountains seem to move and dance to an otherworldly rhythm and occasionally shower onlookers with refreshingly cold water.
After all, this looking around, you could be forgiven for being hungry and a little tired. So, why not pop into a casino for a meal. After filling your stomach with sweet food, you can proceed to dole out generous amounts of thrills and suspense by playing all the casino games possible!
