but I am curious; 

can I learn a new trick?

The Rubik’s Cube

is rampant with fervor; while on vacation.

I want IN, too.

I want to solve its enigma.

It’s not obvious and I’m not proficient; however,

I am a precocious forty-something.

The Rubik's Cube, that is.

I asked my little experts; they’re not  smarter.

Just younger; just faster.

so they schooled me.

It’s about colors, centers, layers, edges, corners.

It’s about face.

It’s about the bottom layer first; for me - white.  

It’s about intuition.

It’s about a flower or “plus” sign.

It’s about algorithms.

"Mom, can you memorize?"

"If yes, then… you can solve it."

If yes, then…

You can teach an old dog a new trick.

A very chic and unexpectedly impressive new skill.

Solved in over six seconds, of course.
