Losing weight is no easy task, and it can be a hard choice to make with a busy lifestyle. There are many simple things that can be done to make losing weight a little bit easier. Of course a healthy diet and work out are essential to healthy weight loss, but before you go heavy on a “health kick”, try a few of these things to get weight loss moving a bit smoother.

  • Replace the junk food.

o   Replacing junk food with healthier choices is number one on the list to start losing weight. Often times that delicious junk food has many preservatives and sugars in it and those are no good if you’d like to create a healthier lifestyle to lose weight. Try some of these tricks;

  • Quinoa chips are far better for you than potato chips. They come in plenty of flavors and can easily replace those fatty sugary chips.
  • Frozen smoothies are a great alternative to ice cream. Whip up one of your favorite smoothies with fruit, ice and yogurt, and freeze it for a tasty frozen treat.
  • Homemade hot chocolate is by far the best way to curb a chocolate craving. Use dark chocolate and soy milk to create the hot chocolate, and add a few marshmallows. It may not be 100% healthy, but is far better for you than those 300+ calorie chocolate bars!
  • Exercise once per day.

o   Exercising does not always have to be strenuous activity. Try doing palates, or yoga a few days a week and the other days simply go for a half an hour walk. Moving keeps the body going and burning calories faster than normal.

  • Park farther away, and always take the stairs.

o   When you intentionally start to park father away, and take stairs whenever possible, your body will begin to get in the mind set for losing weight. Give yourself that extra bit of walking to do, and you might just choose a healthier lunch because you are making yourself feel healthier. You must first feel healthy before you can be healthy and start losing weight, which leads into the next concept; be comfortable with your body.

  • Be comfortable with who you are.o   You are an individual, you do not need to look like a supermodel, or have a flat stomach and thigh gap. Be YOU! Once you accept your body for what it is it will become easier to lose weight. You will be less depressed and angry with yourself and being happy is a key to healthy and easy weight loss. Don’t be afraid to go out and get a burger, but make sure that you are still getting your daily intake of fruits and veggies, and try to stay away from too greasy of burgers. There is no need to cut things out entirely, you won’t be happy with that. It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle change.

    o   Stop weighing yourself every day. You will not see progress so quickly that you need to weigh in every day. Your weight will often fluctuate by a few pounds regardless of diet on a daily basis. This is due to digestion and water retention. Weigh yourself the same day each week to track your progress more efficiently and be happier with the outcome.
