Last night I did something really stupid. I tried on a pair of shorts in the Target dressing room.

Now, I know that I haven’t lost all of the baby weight. But I know that I’ve lost some of it. So I thought, what the hell. I’ll try on a pair of jean shorts in a size up from my normal size, because I was at Target with just the baby and all.

I forgot how awful the mirrors are in the Target dressing room are. I don’t know if it’s the lighting, or the angle, or a little of both, but sure as the sun rises every imperfection in your body is called out in those damn mirrors.

This time, though, I had a little wake up call. I realized that I may have lost a few pounds, but I’m no where near where I was after I had Ricky. That’s mostly because our life wasn’t so crazy and I actually had time to work out, but that’s also partly an excuse. Looking in that Target dressing room mirror made me realize that it’s really time for me to jump on the healthy living bandwagon again...Continue reading at The Mommyhood Project
