My grandmother is 80 years old. She has a diabetes and it runs in the family. Sad to say that evens eye cataract does run in the family. My mom’s elder sister was the one had the eye surgery. My grandfather followed and my mom a couple months ago. It is very expensive to have the said eye surgery. Cataract removal is not as easy as 1, 2 and 3 if you have the diabetes and not financially sufficient. Eyesight is very important. My grandparents sold their property early this year and because of that, they have the money to spend for their health needs. I could not blame my 80 year old grandma if she would feel scared and skeptical about the procedure.

When she was 16 years old, something had happened to her one eye that leads to blindness. Technologies and Doctors were not as good at that time. I am happy to hear that she is finally going to have her eye surgery scheduled today after all the ups and downs to her health condition. The family will all be there to support her and give her strength. I pray for a successful surgery for grandma. I felt sad when we were there lasts year for our Philippines vacation. I had my daughter with me and grandma was struggling to had the good vision. Her cataract was so thick and giving her the hard time to stare or to look at things.

When we left Philippines I was not pregnant yet. Three months after, I got pregnant for the second time. My parents, siblings, grandparents and relatives were all excited and happy about the news. They are all hoping for a baby boy. And, GOD is so good to us that he made it possible. I cannot wait to go back to Philippines for another vacation with my two kids. I want my grandparents to bond and to see my children again. One of the hardest thing, was to left them behind. My family and my grandparents. It was very hard for my mom to see us go but we must have to go back to the US where we live.
