Hey y’all!!!

I have exciting news!!! Fall has officially made it’s way to Georgia. I’m sure we still have another heat wave coming but I am soaking up this amazing weather while we have it.  I even broke out my boots for church yesterday and made a pot of Hearty Veggie Soup. Nothing screams fall more than a good pair of boots and homemade soup… and pumpkin beer (The rest of Blogland is all about Pumpkin Spice Latte’s and I’m all “Give me the pumpkin beer!”).

Vegetable soup has been one of my favorite meals since I was a little girl. My Mimi would make it with me when I would visit her and she always let me be the taster. For some reason I thought that was the coolest job- plainly my taste buds were responsible for the soup being a success.  I made Vegetable Soup exactly as I did with my grandmother for my entire life… until last November. I was visiting a friend and her husband was making soup and offered me a bowl. Of course I couldn’t turn it down but his soup had elbow macaroni in it and it was delicious! Since then I have added the carbed up goodness to my own Veggie soup and it’s become a hit with  my husband and (very) finicky toddler.
