1. Laser Surgery

In laser surgery the acne damaged cover of the skin is scorched off so a new acne scar freed layer of skin can develop back in its place.

2. Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is similar to laser surgery with the exception of using a laser the dermatologist will make use of a sanding tool that is essentially a diamond tipped spinning blade or a metal brush to eliminate the layer of skin that is scarred by acne so that a fresh layer of skin can grow back in its position.

3. Chemical peels

Chemical peels are super exfoliators but not like the ones used domestically. The chemicals used in the chemical peels are harsher and advanced and…

When a chemical peel is done, a lot more of the acne marked skin is eliminated making space for healthy fresh skin to grow but the chemical peels only work with instances of minor acne scarring.

4. Microdermabrasion

This is quite similar to dermabrasion except the fact that only a certain amount of skin is removed and similar to a chemical peel, microdermabrasion should only be used for situations of minor acne scarring.

5. Steroid Injections

Steroid injections slay off the acne scars and then the body has to restore the affected areas by developing back better skin. Steroids are great for moderate scenarios of acne scars.

6. Skin Needling

Skin needling works by spoiling the scarred areas of the skin so the body will patch up itself by growing back improved skin.

7. Fillers or Augmentation Therapy

In Augmentation or Filler therapy fillers prepared of silicon or collagen are used to elevate the skin that was damaged by acne up to the same position as the acne free or undamaged areas of the skin sunken in due to acne.

8. Subcision

In subscision the dermatologist will essentially cut out the acne scar so that when the acne scar is separated the part that was cut out will restore back with glowing skin and it will be on the same level as the rest of the skin.

9. Punch Excision

In this procedure the acne scars are fundamentally sewn simultaneously with stitches or sutures to get free of the facade of acne scars.

How to prevent Acne scar

1. Do not get acne in the first place by…

  • Understanding how to properly take care of your skin and

  • Seeing what leads to acne

2. Get information regarding the best methods to remove acne scars.

3. Never pop pimples as you can make the acne scarring even worse and it can also lead to the spread of bacteria

4.  Try to limit smoking or stop smoking.

5. Do not use abrasive scrubs on the face as this can harm the healing skin, making the skin take longer to be restored and mounting the chances of getting acne scars.
