Nanit - The Baby Monitor That Thinks

Nobody likes suffering from allergies. For parents, it is especially hard watching your kids battle runny noses, watery eyes, frequent sneezing, and other symptoms. Help your children overcome their allergies with clean air to breathe and a healthy diet.

Keep Air Clean

This infographic shows ways to rid your home of airborne irritants and what foods to keep on hand specifically for allergy sufferers. Begin with your HVAC system. Proper maintenance and clean filters help trap dust mites, pollen, and mold before they contaminate your home. Schedule a professional maintenance once a year to ensure the system is in tip-top shape and change filters monthly. Upgrading to a higher quality filter can also help.

Keep on hand items that help combat allergies like apple cider vinegar, locally sourced honey, and nettle tea. Make sure the honey comes from local bees so it has the pollen from your area to help build immunity. All three help your child's body minimize allergy symptoms and prevent future attacks. A healthy diet helps too, including fatty fish and tree nuts, but always check about nut allergies before giving any kind of nut to children. Other foods to keep well supplied during allergy season include apples, all kinds of berries, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, oranges, and red peppers. During allergy season limit dairy and sugar as these increase the symptoms.

Help your kids be the warrior against allergies and set healthy habits that last a lifetime. Teach your children about preventing and fighting allergies and make their lives so much better.
