We are Aaron and Heather Hendrick. We love Jesus. We don't always do that well, but we're wanting to learn how to do that better and better. We share our life, our struggles and our laughter on our family blog. We try to be honest. Blogging is a great way for me to chronicle our children's lives and leave a written record for them one day proving that life is a journey, sanctification can be a process, and there's beauty in the space between "here" and "there." Putting thoughts out in the open for the world to read has grown my faith, changed me, humbled me and softened the areas where I needed exfoliation. I'm eternally grateful for the community of believers who sit with us, share with us and honestly tell us when they think we're being a little outrageous or short sighted. Although we’ll share some things about our family, we do not boast in any of these things. Like Paul, we boast in Christ alone. Our story is only worth reading because it is a part of God’s story, and He has graciously invited us to be a part of His redemptive work.
In August of 2010 we will say goodbye to everything we have ever known…to friends, family members and our ministry in College Station to go to Haiti and serve in this new place. Never in our wildest imagination would we have ever thought we would be “missionaries” outside of our hometown. Missionary sounds too holy. Too selfless. We are neither of those things. We’re just regular people wanting to be obedient to the Lord even though we’re scared to death.

I have always felt that there is something more that God wants from me. I pray about it continuously. The Hendricks are amazing.
Thank you for sharing your story of love.
The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Isaiah 58:11
