Life During Pregnancy As a Never Married - Single Mother !!

Being a single parent is not easy. Whether you have chosen to walk on this path alone of parenthood alone or you have unexpectedly landed into this situation. You will definitely feel worried that how will you manage pregnancy alone.

So following are some tips which will help you during your pregnancy:

Find Yourself A Support:

First and foremost thing that single mothers lack is the support of her partner. It may not sound immense, but it can make the pregnancy extra hard for single women to survive. So in substitute of a partner, you will require a support network to help you through the ups and downs of pregnancy and motherhood.

This support network could consist of friends, family and strangers online. You will need people on whom you can turn to for assistance and sympathy after a tough long day and people to share your hopes and desires with. Your network should be your own personal dream team, which will be a team of experts in providing emotional and physical support to you as and when you require the most.

Start Accepting Help:

You have to take care of yourself in order to take care of your baby; you really don’t have to prove anything to anyone, so start accepting help every now and then. So, accept all the offers of hoovering and other high intensity household works, in case you are not feeling well.

Prenatal Care:

Talk to your doctor every time you feel anxious or depressed, because according to a research it has been reported that single pregnant mothers are the one who suffers from anxiety and depression.

Therefore a doctor may help you to cope with all the negative thoughts and feelings; in addition to that you will also know that you and your baby are healthy and happy, as It is believed that positive pregnant women give birth to positive children. It’s considered to be difficult to go through pregnancy alone, but as a matter of fact it is not the end of the world. Every woman can be happy without a man, exceptionally if she has a child. Since you will be seeing your doctor every now and then, it is essential that you choose someone with whom you will feel comfortable and secure.

Ask For Flaccidity:

If you are suffering from fatigue, sickness or cramps then you are highly recommended for the potential pregnancy programs. You may find yourself struggling at your work place, therefore asks your employer for flexibility. Explain how tough things are for you and suggest ways that your employer could help you to maintain your usual workload.

Eat Right:

Even if you feel so queasy that the thought of food nauseates you, make you take in plenty of nutritious foods. There may be many times when you simply do not feel like cooking. Consult your support network and your doctor to provide you with a proper diet including all the essential vitamins and minerals.

Look for a Doula:

A doula is a woman who is trained birth professional. She helps a pregnant woman in any way she can for example she can help you with your breathing, massage and she is always there for you. A doula can even become your best friend you care taker as you can hire a doula to act as your birth partner and if no one approves of your decision to become a mother. You will feel more in control during labour and delivery.

Make your Pregnancy special and be happy:

Just because you are a single mother does not make this time any less special for you. Go out and take plenty of pictures of your changing body, of the nursery you just have finished, and of you with your supportive friends and family. It is also important to take time to spoil yourself. Get a massage or simply spend a night in watching movies and enjoying snacks with your closest friends.

Pregnancy can be extremely challenging for a single mother, but it can still be wondrous and full of joy if you lean on those who love you. You are preparing for the adventure of motherhood. Take the time while you are waiting for your baby to arrive to show yourself some love while building a loving environment for your child.

Believe in yourself:

There’s nothing wrong with feeling worried about motherhood. It is important to stay positive. Having a partner doesn’t make you a better parent, and you’ll do an amazing job all by yourself and with the help and support of your friends and family who will be there to support you at every turn and every trimester of your pregnancy. It’s not going to be easy, but, it’s definitely going to be worth it.
