We've all been through, witnessed, or are going through the stages of being a mommy blogger.
It all starts when sign up with, probably blogger, to start your blog site. You use the basic minima template and upload a sweet picture of you as a mom or of your kids. Days, weeks, maybe even a month or two go by and you have maybe one comment. Are you getting any visits?
So, you either quit blogging and move on to something else or you start clicking through your blogger toolbar to see what is happening in the world of mom blogs. It's discouraging because when you do this you hit on a number of spam blogs, a few blogs that need to be reported, and blogs in languages you do not recognize.
Finally, you find a mommy blog that inspires you. It shines at you like your first diamond once did, despite it's 1/8th of a caret size. This site has comments and all kids of nifty things on the sidebar. Plus it's cute.
So, you head into your layouts tab and start messing with the colors, fonts, and maybe even try out a new template.
A few weeks and many visits to your fav site later you realize that you need a bit more. So, you click on the sidebar items of the diamond site and start joining networking sites such as MBC.
It's a rude awakening when you start networking and you see the mom blog sites that are nicer than professionally made websites. So, you find one of those free template sites and download your free template- reverting back to the basic minima in blogger.
Within six months you will have invested around $100 in a professionally designed blogsite complete with a personalized banner with your picture (not your kids) on it. Your sidebar is jam packed with the many networking sites you have joined and blog buttons of the friends you have made. You have signed up with Entrecard and Google Adsense.
Congratulations, you are a blogging addict.
If you are new to the blogging scene, save some time, energy and stress and bypass the paragraph before this one.
You'll thank me.
