Last night, I was trying to get Ricky into his jammies after bath time. Content to run around in just his diaper, he was so not interested. Finally, I got him up on his bed and used my stern mommy voice to say, “Ricky. We need to get your jammies on. Knock it off.”
And do you know what my sweet little baby did? He looked at me with a very serious face and said, “NO. YOU knock it off mama. Knock it off!” And then he gave me biggest smile, like he had just learned a new nursery rhyme and was super proud of himself.
I had to turn around, because I couldn’t contain the giggles. And I didn’t want him to think that he could get out of putting on his jammies by telling dear old mom off. And soon enough he calmed down and we were able to do our bedtime routine...Continue reading at The Mommyhood Project
