If your job is in flux and you are not sure if you will even be employed when the COVID-19 crisis is finally over it might be time to start thinking about being a part of a start-up. To be sure, becoming an entrepreneur during a time when everything is uncertain might not be the best time to begin a business. Sometimes, though, when times are a little off kilter, it is the right time to be creative and take a leap of faith. If you are thinking about growing your entrepreneurial wings here are three start-ups you might like to consider.
Influencer Marketing
During the last financial crisis, many companies pulled their money out of traditional advertising and instead sunk hundreds of millions of dollars into the Internet. That prompted a brand-new set of bloggers, websites, and influencers that were new, innovative vehicles for advertising and marketing. It feels that way again with a new influx of dollars being driven back onto the Internet as corporations and small businesses alike shrink their budgets from television commercials, and newspaper and magazine advertising. Companies are getting creative again and that often means tapping into the financial potential of using trusted online voices to speak highly about products and services.
If you have been on the influencer end of marketing campaigns and know a little about metrics and engagements, it might be a great idea to start your own marketing company. As a new kid on the block you will have to work overtime to get some clients on your roster, but it can be a nice business to jump into. And, if you know a little about AI click here to learn about start-ups in that arena.
Hemp, CBD, and Cannabis Shop
There are untold numbers of cannabis (in all its forms) shops springing up as brick and mortar businesses, but also solely as Internet start-ups. In order to dive into these waters it is important to first get a lawyer so you know what products your state allows to sell. Some states allow hemp items like https://cannabispromotions.com/product/category/hemp-shirts and CBD items for sale in person, but not online. Some states allow all three - CBD, hemp and cannabis products for sale - and other states only allow hemp products for sale. Judging by how complicated the state laws are you should start your business with a lawyer first to get a handle on what you can sell.
That said, there is a lot of money in the cannabis industry so as long as you have all of your ducks in a row it can be a doable start-up for you.
Creative Arts
Now that you have had time to perfect some of your hobbies you might want to wrap a new start-up around it. If you have delved into the digital arts and are pretty good at drawing or making logos and designs you can start your own digital agency. You can also start a job selling witty T-shirts and even cell phone cases with quirky sayings and designs.
Some moms are able to create a start-up around things they make from their heart from paintings to digital prints to handmade knitted items and everything in between. Some moms make handmade soaps and even scented candles. Now, there are plenty of people using their talents to design masks. Using the creative arts to begin a new business can be challenging but satisfying because you can make a living on things that you have made from your heart and hands.
With millions of people out of work, many want to take their lives into their hands whether it is going into business for themselves or simply having a side hustle that puts more money into their bank. There is no reason why you can’t too.
