Sometimes the coolest things we discover on the Net is through simple conversations on Twitter. 

We recently learned about this amazing upcoming device called Circle (@CircleReconnect) that will allow you to take control of the Internet in your home. With a simple interface you will be able to set parental controls on all the devices in your home. This is especially great for those of us who have kids who use the Internet. Raise your hand if you never quite learned how to properly set Internet controls on your kids' computers so you just stand over their shoulders while they surf and then doggedly look at their browsing history. Surely it's not just us!

Circle does all of the work for parents and gives us control over the Internet in new and inventive ways. As busy parents we like being able to control the way our kids use the Net, but traditional parental controls just don't work and are a real pain to set up. Plus, kids are so smart these days they just go right around the controls anyway. We love the possibility of Circle already and have only seen a video of how it works. Circle is slated for release in August 2014. 

What we love most is Circle will allow you to toggle off ads on your devices. We love allowing our kids to watch some of their favorite shows on their iPad, but usually don't because of all of the intrusive advertising! You can also turn off the Internet on all of your home's devices when it's time for bed or it's family time. No more texting at the table or checking email during movie night. 

Right now Circle has a Kickstarter campaign that will help them bring this product to market. We think it's amazing and hope they reach their goal. Parents like us need this easy-to-use iOS app that will put the power of the Internet back into our hands.
