I travel a lot to other countries and now that I am no spring chicken (just turned 47), I have to take care of myself on the plane. That means I have to drink plenty of fluids - water in particular. I have learned to really limit my wine intake because it makes me bloated and it swells my feet. The same thing with sodas and juices unfortunately. 

Whereas there were times when I could drink wine on a sixteen-hour flight now I just have to drink perhaps one glass or maybe two. It helps me sleep since I don’t like taking pills just to rest on a plane. 

What do you think? Do you limit your liquid to just water on very long flights?
