Why every single parent needs to listen to this podcast created by a survivor

The AboutCONSENT™ podcast is providing guidance, advice, and learning experiences for other parents, caregivers and sexual trauma survivors. With the majority of sexual assault victims being under 30, sexual violence can have long term effects on the victims. A survivor herself, the founder of AboutCONSENT™ and CONSENTparenting™, Rosalia has learned how to take her situation and become a thriver while educating others through her podcast.

The podcast and education programs also helps survivors by helping them find their voice and rediscover their power. Founder Rosalia said “I’ve been through the pain myself, but I slowly learned how to grow from it, and I would love it if others found themselves again too. Dealing with sexual trauma is something that we still don’t talk about too often because of feelings of shame, and the goal of my podcast is to dismantle that.”

Each week, different health professionals hop in on the platform and offer their advice and expertise. Health professionals who have shared their advice include:

● Asha Frost, an Indigenous medicine woman.

● Melissa Pintor Carnagey, a sex educator.

● Pam Covarrubias, a heart centred business strategist.

● Dali Rivera, diversity and anti-bullying coach.

● Dr. Lyndiana Garcia, a clinical psychologist.

The women provide full disclosure about the challenges of trauma while offering advice

on how to heal on a healthy and safe level. Through the interviews on the podcast,

parents and caregivers can learn about consent education and the importance of abuse prevention for kids of survivor parents. Survivors also learn about healing, and finding their voice. The podcast also makes it a mission to dismantle the shame around sexuality, post trauma.

The launch of AboutCONSENT™ offers a safe space online while bringing up awareness. As opposed to attending sexual education classes in person, people can educate themselves from the comfort of their home. There is hope for survivors, and by offering more resources online, it makes it easier for everyone to become more educated.
