As every parent knows making it in Hollywood can be a daunting task, but when you have a talented and determined child who wants to follow their…

I am a veteran (and possibly serial) entrepreneur with a 20 year career spanning Advertising, Branding, Interior Design and Real Estate Development. In April 2007, I decided to shift gears and stay home with my two children. I now home school the kids while simultaneously working on my career as a blogger, author, marketing consultant, and information product publisher. This blog unfolds via the adventures I am experiencing in my transition from “glass ceiling breaker to home maker” and chronicles my requisite shift from materialism to spiritualism. In the process, I am embracing the sometimes overwhelming but fabulous changes in my life.
What is your blogging philosophy?
Women have a lot to share even if they have made being mom their primary "title". I support blogging as a method of self expression, connection, creativity, contribution, and income.

Homeschool in my house revolves around two pimply faced ‘tweens. Honestly, they aren’t that pimply yet, but every day I can feel it coming. It’s like a deep, gutteral rumbling below the surface and I am bracing myself for the inevitable eruption.

With increased hormonal secretions, hygiene has become of paramount importance. I find…

Friday night I walked into the family room and found my two children plopped in front of the TV. They were not just watching. They were glued--eyes large as ping pong balls. They had chosen a documentary on the history channel about 911. I entered at during the tragic scene in which victims were jumping out of the towers because jumping from a 90 story building seemed to be a better choice than incineration.

"Turn it off", I… Continue

Woman in Mid Forties Dreams ONLY of the Nissan Cube!

I am a recovering material girl. Over a short span of two decades, my husband and I managed to accumulate an impressive collection of “status symbols” which I enjoyed until I realized how much excess “baggage” we were carrying around. I have become more practical in my 5th decade (that would be my 40’s). I have stopped worrying about what will “impress”. I now follow my heart to make decisions.…

5 Ways to Improve Your Kid's Education--Part One.

Posted on September 8, 2010 at 8:40pm 0 Comments

The education system is failing in many ways. As parents, we must ask, “What steps can I take to improve my kids education?” Through homeschooling, I have gained firsthand experience on how parents can be better advocates for their kids. In this five part article, I hope to share some of those strategies with you.

I have purposely excluded "volunteering" from this article. In many schools, it’s required and for numerous parents, it's an obvious first choice.… Continue
