I grew up in rural Australia where my mother nurtured my instincts for cooking by encouraging me to go to culinary school, saying, “No matter where you go, people always need to eat.” Following her advice, I worked as a chef for many years, making sure that wherever I went, people did eat well. Now I live in Boulder, CO where I write about living and eating well on a budget.
